About Nikki: Supporting children and young people with therapy that heals

Meet Nikki

Here to help children and teens feel seen, heard and understood.

I’m a qualified psychotherapist and play therapist based in West Lothian, supporting children, young people and families based in the Low Port Centre, Linlithgow.

My approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity and safety — creating a nurturing therapeutic space where healing begins. Whether it’s big feelings, difficult transitions or just needing to be heard, I walk alongside children and young people as they make sense of their experiences and grow in confidence, connection and self-understanding.

“Be seen. Be heard. Begin to heal.”

Where young voices are heard - and hearts feel safe

Helping children grow through play and connection.

For children, play is more than just fun; it’s how they communicate, express emotions, and process the world around them.

Through play therapy, I offer a safe, accepting space where your child can explore their feelings and experiences in their own time and in their own way. Using evidence-based, non-verbal methods, I help children build resilience, make sense of everyday challenges, and feel more confident in who they are.

Each child is unique, and therapy is always shaped around what feels right for them. We go at their pace - with no pressure, no judgement, and lots of gentle encouragement.

Making sense of big feelings -no matter what age

A safe space for young people to explore, reflect and grow

Adolescence and early adulthood can be a time of great change — emotionally, socially, and personally. Therapy offers a space away from the pressures of daily life where young people can talk openly, feel heard, and explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

I work in a person-centred way, building a strong, respectful therapeutic relationship and holding space for whatever needs to be said — or felt. By offering empathy, acceptance and understanding, I support young people to express themselves more freely, process what’s difficult, and take steps towards feeling stronger, calmer and more confident in themselves.

Therapy that grows with you - from play to purpose

Support for children, teens and young adults aged 5 to 21

I work with a wide age range - from young children to young adults. I offer a consistent, compassionate presence through each stage of development. Some children start with play therapy and later return as teens for talking therapy when life brings new challenges.

No matter your child’s age, therapy is always centred on trust, safety and connection. My aim is to help them build inner resilience and discover their own way forward — feeling stronger, more secure, and more hopeful about the future.

My work is grounded in both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, drawing on evidence-based methods while always remaining flexible and responsive to the individual needs of the child or young person in front of me.

Therapy might involve play, talking, art, metaphor, silence — whatever helps them feel safe and supported in the moment. It’s not about fixing or forcing; it’s about holding space for healing to unfold in its own time.
